10000 km and two years later I would still recommend this bike. Switched out the saddle to a B17 this year only because I’m vain. Replaced the bottom bracket at 9000km during the Thai Monsoon Season. yes, the original tyres were so-so, but I learned to repair flats. Now running Panaracers and flats are a thing of the past.

I researched for months on bikes, brands, components, etc. and in my case, this was the bike I chose. The Sirrus Sport cut my 7.3 mile commute down by an average of 10 minutes (from an old mountain bike). It shifts smoothly and is very fast. It’s well made and feels sturdy while riding as well. The seat is hard as a rock but that’s the only negative thing I can ink of.

I use my Cirrus to log in 20-30 miles a day. The staff at my LBS truly care for each customer. They want what is best for you. The Cirrus is so smooth, and lightweight, that I couldn’t ask for a better bike. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it all over again.

  • Pros:
  • Lightweight

  • Commuting/City

Bought the ’13 Sirrus Sport, Xlarge as my primary commuter bike. It replaced my cruiser, albeit was more comfortable but was too heavy/wide and needed something with more gears/low end for a couple hills and be able to take on the train. Was really impressed with the gearing and seating position (I’m 6’3″, 250lb). I spent the 1st day with it adding guards, lights, computer, rear rack & surprisingly it still looks really good; added a some weight, but still is light enough to put on a bus’s bike rack and fast enough to stay up with city traffic. Very happy with it, actually looking forward to 1st day back at work to try it out.. ok, maybe not.

Added some Giant Handle bar end grips. I have tried some comfort bikes but for me this is more comfortable and more fun to ride. You go very fast with little effort. The gear shifting feels very precise. Test ride it and you will want to buy it.

  • Pros:
  • Lightweight, Durable
  • Cons:
  • Narrow saddle

I put about a hundred miles and its holding up pretty well. The shifter is fantastic and the bike built quality feel solid overall. It’s a little heavy for an aluminum bike but not so much.

Cons: I had to replace the saddle after the first ride. The stock one doesn’t provide any comfort for distance riding.

  • Fast, Steering, Easy upgrades, LIGHT, Durable
  • Cons:
  • Lots of derauiller adjust, Stock grips will SLIP
  • Best Uses:

This bike WILL perform for you day in and day out.. I have replaced the grips to Ergon GP-1 and added specialized P2 overendz bar ends. I have take this bike 20-26 miles several times without stopping and recently went 53.2 miles with only a short 15 minute break. I have had to have the derauillers adjusted several times, but i attribute that to the cables stretching a bit. Fit and finish on this bike are second to none…. its beautiful. Buy it and enjoy, oh ya i have lost 45 pounds in 79 days in part because of this bike and counting calories

Excellent for very long rides. Geometry is perfect, handles Katy Trail superb also use on MKT trail head (Columbia,MO.) almost daily. Gear spectrum & transition is perfect. Handles wet pavement & even pea gravel excellent. Also very aesthetic.

I am in my mid 50s and I just got back into riding 2 yrs ago on a 7 speed comfort bike. Just got the sirrus sport a 3 weeks ago and I love it.It is worth the extra 50 bucks for the sport model. I ride mostly pavement. The bike is very light (easy to load on rack). I have ridden 80 miles in the last couple of weeks. The stock seat is very comfortable (even on the 26 mile ride I did last week.

Ride between 15-30 miles a day. Made some modifications, such as 5 in rise handlebars to spare my back and shoulders and nubby 32 inch tires to aide in off road ride on shell paths and they work great. Great bike for the money. Very happy with my decision to purchase it.

  • Pros:
  • Comfortable and sporty
  • Best Uses:
  • Commuting, Pavement

I love to ride but do it infrequently. When I do I want to go fast but in New York there’s always a bump in the road so I was also looking for comfort. Having competed in my first 66 mile ride this summer, on a complete comfort hybrid, I starting looking to increase my speed and give up a little comfort. With this bike, I was lucky enough to have both. I loved it’s sporty feeling and quick acceleration. With the tires at 80 psi, the ride is really smooth for city riding over the bumps. For faster rides I can increase the pressure. I’m really pleased with the bike and it feels very nimble compared to the bulky rides I’ve rented in the past. This is a great entrance for me, the beginner rider. The only con may be the handle bar extensions which aren’t the best for maneuvering in tight traffic; but they can always be taken off and put on for longer rides.
Enjoy,
Pat

  • Pros:
  • Handles well, Lightweight, Sporty

Purchased this after several years away from cycling because I could no longer ride my last bike because the drop handlebars hurt my neck. This bike ROCKS! It’s so sporty and responsive. I’ve only ridden it on pavement in Chicago (streets and the lakefront bike path). I took four comparable bikes for long test rides. The rider position is more upright than on some bikes, less upright than others, but a good balance for me. I have a bad back and neck, and I’ve ridden almost 100 miles with no issues so far. The same goes for the ride on this bike: not as smooth as some, and not as harsh as others. I would describe the ride as mildly harsh, but not in a bad way. It’s like a sports car–it transmits to the operator information about the terrain it’s on to facilitate proper handling and control. There are a lot of cracks and holes on the streets of Chicago, and I certainly feel them. But on a smooth street or bike path, THIS BIKE GOES LIKE A ROCKET! When you’re on the street at the front of a line of cars and the light turns green, this bike is like a thoroughbred blasting out of the gate. At times like this one needs a bit of confidence, and this bike delivers it. It effortlessly shifts through its gears and accelerates. So, if you’re thinking of switching from a road bike to a more comfortable upright ride, but don’t want the the mushy ride and rolling friction of the wider tires on a comfort bike, check this hybrid out. You’ll sacrifice some wind resistance for the sake of comfort, but you won’t be disappointed in the performance.

  • Pros:
  • Good Value
  • Cons:
  • Lack of grip space

Bought this product as it provide better physical characteristics than box-store models at a worthwhile price. Been using this product for weekend club rides and ‘part-time’ commutes to work.

The frame has screw threads on the fork and seat stay to support installation of racks, if desired.

You may find the stock grips (Specialized Body Geometry Comfort grips) twisting on you, and you may perhaps consider bar-ends for more grip space, as the shifters occupy most of the handlebar space, otherwise.

I recommend this product for serious yet budget-minded starting cyclists.

Specialized’s Sirrus is essentially a road bike with flat handle bars. Everything designed for the pavement with quality components make for a bike that feels like it could go forever.
For those of us who remember the long rides on 10-speeds in our youth, but would rather forego the roadbike attitude.
Absolutely love it!
