First time back on a bike in 30 years, I am so glad I bought this model bike. Have been riding it for about a month now and have found nothing that I do not like nor anything that doesn’t work properly. Just biking for exercise right now…cardiac problems…but with this bike I can ride a little or a lot…after looking at all the main brands, choosing Specialized was money well spent.

This is my second Specialized bike and my favorite by far. My other two bikes are a steel framed ’00 Hardrock that I still beat on (it’s comfortable and fits!) and another brand of mountain bike that rhymes with “shrek” that is amazing but has dragging brakes that I can’t adjust out…grrr. I bought the bike to make my 10 mile commute to work in the mornings and found that it works amazing for this purpose. The amount of ground one can cover for the amount of effort expended is amazing. For the first few weeks it felt like I had someone pushing me. I’ve done a handful of 40 mile rides but generally stick to the 10-15 mile/ride trips. Comfort is relative, the ‘door stop’ of a seat actually feels a lot better than it looks and any comfort issues are due to my lack of fitness, not the bike. The 105 component group is awesome and performs a lot better than I ever expected. Shifts are precise, instant, and reliable. Ergonomics are excellent as well, all controls are where they should be and shifting/braking require no thought, they just happen. After the initial adjustment at around the 400-500 mile mark I haven’t had to touch a thing. This was surprising to me as my mountain bikes require a little tinkering with from time to time to keep everything working properly. FWIW I use SPD style MTN bike pedals on all of my bikes and they work great. One pair of shoes, any bike in the garage. win-win

I thought the best way to describe the Specialized Roubaix SL-4 Sport, which I bought at a local Cycling dealership in the Desert in 2013. And to really be honest with “My Comments” is to give 6-7 months of true road riding, before I rated it. And I want to tell you this Bike stands alone. I owned a Cannondale SL-500 for 8 years., not a bad bike. But comparing apples to oranges the Roubaix with the Carbon Fiber frame and front fork., Zertz’s inserts in the stays, the comfort, 15 % of added stiffness in back when you need to get off that seat and sprint and pass all your cycling friends with jaws open with envy, it makes you feel proud that you have a machine worthy of the task of getting the work done and not feeling beat up, but feeling refreshed and looking forward to the next adventure. I have 878 miles on my bike and planning of getting a lot more on it in the near Future. If you’re Serious about buying an exceptional Road Bike, buy a Specialized!!

I did my homework and this baby came out on top. Beat out the cannon dale and trek for me and the cheaper Fuji. Love it, solid and fits my lanky frame great in an upright position.

When I moved up to this bike from the Allez Elite, it was a next to none judgement call!! I love this bike! At first I was uneasy about the zert inserts, but after a few rides on Downtown Orlando streets and a few other “lumpy” roads… I’ve come to LOVE them! This bike hands down is worth every penny!

After riding mountain bicycles for 20 years I decided to finally buy a road bicycle. The only thing I can say is I’m sorry I waited 20 years to do so. The feel of this bicycle is amazing. It makes you want to ride all day. You can’t go wrong with a Specialized bicycle.

First carbon bike. I’m an intermediate rider, some group rides, some climbing, and average about 100-140 miles a week and I’m 67. The bike handles exceptionally well, smooth ride, and much less fatigue than on my alloy bike (not Specialized). The bike is stable and very comfortable smoothing out the bumps in our desert and rough mountain roads. The components are very good which makes this a good value also. The bike seemed almost effortless on my first 40+ mile ride which cut minutes off my usual time. On top of that it’s a great looking machine!

It’s a great looking bike but the best part is that it quickly helps you feel like you ‘belong’ on those busy weekend days with all the ‘semi pros’ on their $10k bikes are burning around…one of my best purchases in any leisure category ever! I looked at options from Trek, Giant and the usual suspects but kept coming back to the Roubaix. Great staff at my local concept store too who fitted me perfectly and got me comfortable. I’m now a Specialized brand fan.
